Re: Hideous Yank
The Buick is still my only legal car, recent events have given me a massive dose of can't be arsed to buy something sensible. It has misbehaved a bit. The alternator died, odd symptom of not going above idle. Luckily I live somewhere flat ish with sod all traffic. Made it home on at tickover (35MPH)...

Re: Hideous Yank
The Buick has gone wrong! One front brake was sticking on. It had me baffled for a bit as the calipers are newish and the master cylinder looks this century. Turns out that a hose was iffy. Rockauto to the rescue again. Less than 25 euros delivered for a pair. IMG_20210501_142816.jpg IMG_20210501_12...

Re: Retiring abroad
I left the UK in 2004. I started out with a sensible sized house, but have since ignored advice and bought a place with far too much land. Council tax is around 600. Self employement is relatively easy to do now, just need to provide recognised qualifications. There is even a simplified tax regime t...

My Buick is being very boring and continuing to be reliable. A mini road trip today up to a beach race. IMG_20200927_095642.jpg I must fix the fuel gauge ,50 euros should not fill the tank. IMG_20200927_103938.jpg Usual busy Sunday traffic. IMG_20200927_112140.jpg Todays event :) IMG_20200927_114855...

Re: What did you do today?
I spent a fun afternoon trying to remove the alternator pully from the C6. I think I've got the correct sealey sx400 tool ,but no dice, the t50 bit is too loose and the m10 bit won't fit. I'll have a look with a mirror tomorrow to try and see what's in there. I suspect its a non OE pully and bolt. Tr...

Re: Hideous Yank
I picked the buick up from repairs today. The bumpers not as straight as it could be but it looks loads better. Fresh paint on boot lid too. I Need to clean off some excess polish and that bumper sticker. That'll wait until tomorrow, today I've been cruising about on essential* errons. IMG_20200801_...

My Buick's still working. I'm less surprised by this fact as time goes on. A few minor events have happened. I've fixed* the power windows so they go up and down quicker. One day I'll re gas the aircon... Buick door.jpg Last week my gate post decided to move and got in the way of the bumper. buick b...
