Re: What did you do today?
Tell me more? I'm getting it at the weekend so will have a better idea what it needs then. I know I've a gearbox to change, cambelt and welding to do but that's all in hand. I imagine it's mainly going to be the usual panels and trim bits I'll need.

Re: What did you do today?
Changed the bushes on the Mercedes that failed on the MOT. I ordered a proper spring compressor especially for Merc springs that made life really easy. Popped the bottom arms out, cut out the bushes and replaced them with poly bushes for easiness. Just nipped up to the MOT place to book a retest and...

Re: What did you do today?
Took the merc in for it's mot and it failed. Bushes in rear of front arms on both side knackered, can't believe i missed this when I checked it over. My first mot fail in twenty years. After seeing the price of decent quality front arms I've decided to poly bush it and sacrifice a little ride comfor...

Re: What did you do today?
Finally got round to doing the rear abs sensor change on the Merc. Being an early w202 it has a single rear sensor going into the diff. I'd been putting the job off as I'd read the sensor seizes in making it a twat to change. Typically they were correct. It started to come out lovely, turn it gently...

Re: What did you do today?
Finally managed to get the vacuum pipe reattached to the mercs autobox. The curse of having large hands that wouldn't fit into a small gap. Had to drop the box down eventually to gain access. Whilst I was at it I changed the autobox filter and replaced the fluid so hopefully after all this I will ge...

Re: What did you do today?
Took Shonky the bx for its not. A clean pass with compliments on how well mechanically it's looked after. Next one is the Merc but I'm struggling to change the rear abs sensor as it's seized into the diff housing solid. I wonder what rating resistor I'd need to trick the light to go off.

Re: What did you do today?
Last little jobs on the bx done, rear brakes bled and a new stripe down his flanks. All ready for a mot now after I've bedded in the new brakes. Hopefully then he'll be ready for his trip to France next month. Then swapped cars around and got the Merc up in the air. When I replaced all the lpg pipes...

Re: What did you do today?
Today I did do my first giffer style accessory to the front of my house. In celebration of my upcoming 50th later this year I present the giffer parking aid. My front parking is short and the car needs to be as close to the bay window as possible so as not to hang out over the pavement. Reversing up...
