I once had a random chat with a guy in the Talk of the Town bar (one of the old famous HK hotels, Mandarin or Excelsior) who claimed...

The something extra under the hood of the Olds Jetfire would be the turbo. Didn't sell that well though. Quite a small engine, for the US, I think? 215cu or something like that? Yep, the 215ci V8 what became the Rover in late '67. The Jetfire was a compact so not a huge full size car like my Impala.

That Camaro looks to be very nice, you know you need to own it. I think the V6 is a pretty good engine which you probably know, is your Astro also a V6? Camaro looks straight, clean and rot free, check the MOT history, if it's good away you go. Mind you I am biased bearing in mind I own an old Chevy...

In other Focus news I decided to check the tyre pressures today, had to put two pounds into the right front. That was it. Exciting huh?

Re: The UK's fascination with convertible cars
I didn't put the hood up on my MG last year at all but it covered a reasonable mileage. Just as well as it's the early 'packawsy' type and horrible to erect. The number of wet days varies greatly in different parts of this country and I'm fortunate to live on the dry side. I had two trips to Suffol...
