Re: EBay Finds

I'm not a humongous fan of the front of the MG versions of the ADO16 but otherwise these are pretty much perfect for me. 2 door, strip speedo and 1275 lump. Too much wood for an MG though I can't help feel.
This is too expensive for what they are though. 4 to 5 grand car max imo.

Re: What did you do today?

I was told that for insurers it's purely a numbers game. It costs money to handle and process claims. If it's straightforward and low value it doesn't make much sense (especially for the big insurers) to fanny around as it'll cost them more money in admin time. Hence why they'll write off low value ...

Re: EBay Finds

I had MFV (now Tommy's) X300 3.2 that I won on a Roffle. Likewise found it very underwhelming. Slow, crap auto gear box (slow and lockup at 55 mph ish so below modern other driver dawdling speeds), ponderous handling, thirsty and obnoxiously long (didn't fit in any car park space). Interior rather b...

Re: Rover P4 - Arrived!

Odds on a PO might have been a Guild member. At least with its original reg there might be a trace of it there? P4s were shabby when I was a kid - you rarely saw a shiny one but I do agree they look the bollocks when they are. There is a P4 guild sticker in the back window so potentially they may h...

Re: Rover P4 - Arrived!

The chassis is rather imposing when it's a few millimetres from your nose. I can pick the rear end up of the Midget by myself. Certainly no chance on any of the P4. The body is really in solid condition too and there isn't really any corrosion on any of the fixings that I've undone. Real shame I did...

Re: Rover P4 - Arrived!

Replaced the master this evening. Nice to have the longer days back. Removal was straightforward with my new Whitworth sockets. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230326/a15a41c4665bbdb0063a54bbd60ed9c4.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230326/ae618e7075ec087fe0c9aa65e6d50a10.jpg I did have to ...

Re: EBay Finds

The abortion made 950 quid but the note was to say that the registration number on the car was not live with DVLA which basically means it is off road use only. Prices today were a bit shit with very little getting up to lower estimates. The market is really weird some places are getting strong mon...

Re: What did you do today?

I was hoping to get my P4 to this local meet today but not finished with the brakes yet. Met this chap with his 110 and got chatting. His son is actually local in the village and owned the immaculate Red Scoobie. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230326/6311d0b1f2f6ad3772d2ff935ed220d7.jpg https://...

Re: EBay Finds

Ha that's come down a fair bit!
When I first saw that a few months ago he was wanting £10k+ for it.

Some sort of hill climb setup.
