Re: Two wheels good.

ah now tere is an idea which we'd not thought about. the plan was basically to get said machine and put it away until the better weather.

the o/h is a proper fair weather biker, but a few runs out on the FJ might be a good idea, if just to get a feel for the bike.

Re: Two wheels good.

Aye I recall a FJ12 as bloody big as well. Still it's worth a try if they've always wanted one. well i too thought it was big machine too, o/h says it is lighter than the softail, which is a hefty machine. it is apparently one that they have always wanted. this one is i think a 91 (H?) and while it...

Re: Two wheels good.

Unless the seat has been cut down an FJ12 might be a little bit big, I think they are quite a heavy lump as well but it's been years since I had to move one i suspect this will be the case, but since i am prone to blowing money on stupid things i am in no place to say anything! it is something they...

Re: Two wheels good.

the other half don't like the Sportser all that much, finding it a touch too tall and the handle bars a scooch too far forward, unlike the Softail which is almost perfect. That surprises me as Sportys always seem too small for most people. Guess it depends on the bars fitted etc though. and t'other...

Re: Two wheels good.

This Saturday will see the Hardly Dangerous Sportster go off to a new home, and a Yam FJ1200 will take its place. i think its a 1980s one, and to my eyes it has the look of "Bigtrak" about it. the other half don't like the Sportser all that much, finding it a touch too tall and the handle ...

Re: Back In The Day. Dodgy Dealers In Your Area.

"Car go Cheap, at Big Mike's" was always an amusing ad to read in the Gazette back in my yoof. as i recall they were a bomb site dealer out near Portrack Lane in Stockton. it would feature such delights as "1977 Mini - runs and drives, 6 weeks T&T, £59" or "1982 Ford Ca...

Re: Marvin's miserable miniature motors

i have had a days holiday today. i have had a plumber come and change my kitchen tap, and also service the boiler. they are busy, very busy as its taken the better part of 3 weeks to get around to what was a routine and not urgent job. that was this morning, so, now what to do with the afternoon, no...

Re: Rover P4 - Arrived!

there is an old boy down the street from me, Mal (as in Malcolm) who had a string of P4's over the years. the last one was a light grey over dark grey 110, though i remember him having a green one too, and even as a kid i loved the big Rover, as it just looked very special. been an odd kid, things l...
