Re: Too much technology?

Get yourself to Canada! Practically everything has air, even my sister's basic Sentra. They spend all winter being freezing cold so feel the need to replicate it in the summer....

Re: Too much technology?

It isn't just that shit breaks (and it has in my experience). It is just in the way and not wanted. Air con rads and compressors have got in the way of other tasks, the aforementioned ABS light is just a pain in the arse. I don't want all this stuff, don't need it or use it and don't want to be faff...

Re: Too much technology?

I think what we are seeing here is an acceptance of all these helpful things in the context of a leased, brand new or otherwise paid-for modern where the technology remains reliable. I'm not knocking any of that, it is just not for me but I remain in absolute gratitude that none of these vehicles wi...

Re: Too much technology?

I'll just wait till the light goes out again.......In any case 45 years of driving Sixties cars has pretty much taught me not to lock wheels up!

Re: Too much technology?

I tell you why they can take ABS and shove it up their arse - Fucking MOT-failing warning lights on my £300 Fiesta which do not affect the safety of the car in any way (it has far better anchors than anything else I drive) but mean that I have to play light roulette when booking my MOT. Yes, I have ...

Re: Too much technology?

Anything that over-rides vehicle control by the driver can get in the sea. I never really came across anything that interfered with my "job" at the wheel until I bought my T25. Using all the available "power" to get up a hill with a caravan came completely unstuck when it cut out...

Re: Squire's voitures

With the Humber I replaced the internal windscreen surround and did a little detailing on the chrome screws, taking the tarnishing off with very fine wet or dry paper. IMG_5661.JPG That is the appeal of cars held together with screws and bolts - a few minutes fettling always shows some improvement.

Ooooh....tres jolie. However, I can not look at your endeavours without wincing at the fate-inducing registration number on the 806.....Bonne chance, look forward to updates.

Re: What did you do today?

Greased the Cowley this morning. Only one of the 11 nipples was blocked - result. Scraped some old underseal off the inner wings and filled the front corners of the sills with Bilt Hamber, it will need a full injection treatment later in the summer but not today. Today is a beach day - just loading ...
