Re: Scooter for a 16 year old
I've a couple of cheap lids. I also only own a couple of lids. Ones a pisspot lid I wore on the trike and occasionally do on the bike, the other is an half face with full visor. I was told about the benefits of full facewhen he seen my helmet at the CBT place and my point back was I know the risks bu...

Re: Scooter for a 16 year old
Yes it's on the changeover. Not allowed to be manufactured anymore but can still be sold. I didn't mention about fitting as I thought that was a given. Buy the best you can afford that fits properly. I wouldn't have thought anyone would spend a grand on an helmet that doesn't fit comfortably. I wear...

Re: Scooter for a 16 year old
Helmets, they all have to pass the same tests but but the best you can afford. The first part is true to a point, ECE 22.05 has no sunset date for sales, the latest will be ECE 22.06. The most important thing with helmets is how they fit, This all the way home. Even if it's a Great Bunch of Lads LS2...

Re: Scooter for a 16 year old
Most scooters are now 4 stroke. For his first he will bin it so but something cheap and cheerful. Lexmoto and ajs are 2 of the better known Chinese brands and the 139 qmi gy6 engine can be tweaked a bit. That same engine is also found in honda and Peugeot so no point paying more for the name for a f...

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
All the car dealers I knew (back when God was a lad) never used to lock their cars, they all reckoned that if the cunts wanted it, they'd have it away and broken glass was a pain in the arse to deal with. I of course always go against the grain and lock everything. Didn't work when the scrotes want...

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
Oh, well that's okay then. With todays tech it should be impossible to nick a car ffs. I remember the keypad on my saxo. I couldn't start the fucker myself at times. It used to work itself at times. Can't remember my vts having a keypad although that means fuck all. I think if you unplugged those k...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
I used to do the odd but of welding when I was younger in an exhaust factory but it's a skill I really want to learn properly. Especially considering I own a Peugeot and a ford. Just buy one and play and practice then! Mines getting on for 30 years old, cost 150 quid and does a good job or spend mo...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
For a decent welder I will travel. I find it hard to trust folk with my vehicles and that's why I use just the one mechanic who is a good friend of mine for bits I can't do.

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
125-130bhp is ok without an intercooler. The next step up on remapping is 155bhp but intercooler highly recommended at that as well as a decat but I'm decatting this soon anyway. Easy enough job to do,just fit an inlet manifold and intercooler from an rhz 110 2.0 HDI. They never was fitted in the B...
