Re: The Triumph Mayflower.
I did go through a phase of desperately wanting a vintage motor-car. I was fully supported by the dear lady wife who is also, quite mad... I finally fell in love with an Austin seven (Chummy I think) but the lady owner had an inflated idea of its value. Couldn't do a deal and I then went off the ide...

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.
All the car dealers I knew (back when God was a lad) never used to lock their cars, they all reckoned that if the cunts wanted it, they'd have it away and broken glass was a pain in the arse to deal with. I of course always go against the grain and lock everything. Didn't work when the scrotes wante...

Everyone had a Parka back in the day. The sooner you got rid of the fucking thing, the cooler you were!

Re: EBay Finds
I've taxed worse! I passed p on an Interceptor many moons ago for £600, absolutely mint but some light-fingered twat had pinched the engine!

Re: What did you do today?
I took the Jag down to TQ1 garage for its MOT and service tomorrow. I have a Corsa (what the fuck is with the indicators?) as a 'get me home' job, reg number MOT123! Just had a phone call, they had a cancellation so have MOT'd it early... it failed! Gutted... Not really, was sort of expecting it, it...

Re: What did you do today?
As the MOT is due shortly on the Jag (it's booked on for Tuesday, nearly a month early as I don't like leaving stuff to the last minute, it hurts my brain... ) I moved the cars around after taking the mutts to their favourite spot firstly in the Merc, roof down naturally as it was fookin' lovely out...

Re: What Classic ?
Has anyone suggested the Triumph Vitesse yet? I think (though I have never driven one) they are the canine's conkers, they sound fantastic and with a separate chassis relatively long-lived. I do know that you can fit the crank from a 2.5 to get a BIG engine. I'd love one to be honest but I never see...

Re: What Classic ?
I'm undecided between the Rover and the Triumph (had both, liked both) so how about a lazy choice... XJ6?
Yes, indeed they like to rust but then everything interesting did but they are super-duper vehicles to waft around in and surprisingly rapid when pressed.
