The 'track' and position numbers should be green, I think it only comes on with the lights. i only noticed as the S for sport looked illuminated but I couldn't see the button next to that for the cruise (if yours has it). Ahh, I can't recall the make of the premium sound system but pretty sure it's not Alpine. I think Hardon Karmon & Bose depending on the age. If it's the original headunit then there's a switch on it somewhere to swap between the two types, I think it changes if the internal amp is used or not. M...
