Question gentlemen; I have been a tuning cars again and would like to measure rpms more precisely than via a jumping needle on a 50 yr old gauge, is there some sort of electrikery powered gadget available that one can point at a flywheel/pulley/fan/shaft that will accurately measure the rpms?

I like it but then again I kinda don't. The paintwork is too shiny for my comfort, looks like one of those cars that someone very silly has owned and fiddled and farted with trivia rather than getting the important jobs done.
