Tinkered about with the Saab V4 this afternoon. Starts easier now but I'm fairly sure the carb is a bit large for it. Measuring rotational speed.

Question gentlemen; I have been a tuning cars again and would like to measure rpms more precisely than via a jumping needle on a 50 yr old gauge, is there some sort of electrikery powered gadget available that one can point at a flywheel/pulley/fan/shaft that will accurately measure the rpms?

I would make the speed 'limit' 100mph; I would also find appropriate measures to ban approx a third of current registered 'drivers'
