Re: Squire's voitures

It could see the road again in the hands of a competent welder. The front inner wings are excellent and original, its just the usual Minor areas at the rear which have gone and the crossmember. I've seen worse returned to the road.

Re: Squire's voitures

Yes you are correct. Also the station wagons had stainless steel window frames but the 2-door saloons were painted steel, which I have swapped over. Still no movement on the engine, the next step will be to remove the cylinder head, which needs doing anyway given the time its been standing (around 4...

It might live again. Once I've got what I want I'll punt the rolling shell on, as it's a 2-door it could be taken on by one of the custom/race guys with workshop facilities and the budget to do it. The headlining is mint. It is a shame it fell on hard times, but at least its not going to scrap.

Re: Squire's voitures

The scrapper arrived to-day, and not before time. And no, before you say "why did they leave two cars behind", the scrapper I refer to is this 2-door saloon donor car. My station wagon still needs a lot of work, I am convinced its done nearly 200,000 miles. Mechanically it is shagged and a...

1172cc sidevalve. I believe an oil filter was optional equipment. Like Mercrocker says they did well in trials cars, Dellow making famous use of Ford bits. The owner's club seems very active for these old tubs and some people really rate them, but I'm past that low output nonsense now. That people a...

Re: Old scrapyard pics

There's always some bureaucratic cunts wanting to ruin everything. Probably had a property developer after the land, but there's no way any government official could possibly be corrupt. Tossers.

Re: What did you do today?

Good to see the Pablo owner had his priorities right - fit shit LED's first and forget the maintenance.

Re: Old scrapyard pics

If I had a time machine you'd never see me again... In the Reverend's pic the Hawk appears to be a Mk. VI with accident damage. Probably not worth repairing at 10 years old even though it would just be a matter of changing panels - the separate chassis was a beefy affair. Funnily enough the cost and...
