If it was comparatively priced I would probably still be playing about with LPG but using that to justify running a big block daily.. or something with a Detroit diesel. Ah, yeah. I wasn't specific. At 40 you get as much of not more air through the heater as the fan can provide at a standstill.

Thus, leaving it running just burns fuel

Is it not ignition switched? It is, but the way the ducting works you only need the fan when road speed is below about 10mph. Above that it'll merrily blow through from the front grille and provide effective ventilation without the fan running- which draws 50 watts. No point it being on if you're d...

Fitted the new fan motor, which should last being as it's a 12v item. It's nearly silent so I'm going to have to watch about leaving it switched on.

Vacuumed and washed the car. Oddly the red paint fell off one wheel trim so that's on the to-do list now.
