Deffo time to check the valve block etc in the auto box then. That's right in the failure range. From what I've read the valve block is easy enough to do, especially for a man of your skills. It was also overheated badly. In writing this block off.

Gearbox was good when parked.

AJ V8, think the tensioners took a dump. I've written this engine off but potentially have a lead. 2001 (this is a 2000) XK8 was the same 4.0 engine?
