Re: What did you do today?

Kwikfit seem to be a lottery. Some garages can be perfectly fine and some can be shocking. No idea what the ones around here are like and I rather not be testing the waters unless I really need to when there are other good options about. Not least I'll only ever use them for tyres. Mobile fitters ha...

Re: What did you do today?

I will second costco for quality tyres you can't beat them on price. I did check them. They quote £83.50 for Eagle F1 but my online login/card has expired so I can't find/remember the fitting fee they put on top. But say it's a fiver then it's probably about the same as elsewhere (tad cheaper). The...

paulplom wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 6:22 am Try qwikfit. They had a special on for pirellis. £220 for a pair fitted.
I can get PilotSports for less on blackcircles which (ime) are a superior tyre

However the Kwikfuckers can do Rainsport for £350 all in and fitted on the drive. So £87.50 a tyre. I think I might do that.

Re: What did you do today?

FFS, just stick four Chinese ditch finders on it and don't drive like a twat... Cheap tyres are alright in the dry. Hit a puddle at 70mph on the motorway or even a day where it hadn't rained for a while and it suddenly hits, then it becomes immediately clear why it's worth spending an extra hundred...

Re: What did you do today?

These are the choices mostly what I'm deciding between: £430 for Pilotsport 4 £480 for CrossClimate 2 £330 for Kumho £363 for Toyo TR1 £366 for Rainsport I have seen Eagle F1 for £360 too I'm currently siding towards Rainsport as it should be a good mixed weather tyre while being £60 cheaper than PS...

Re: What did you do today?

Pirelli are coming up more expensive than PilotSports on Blackcircles.

Re: What did you do today?

Actually I lie. Blackcircles have CrossClimates in that size (I'm sure they didn't the other day). £480 for four after 10% discount. £430 for four PilotSports 4 after 15% discount. PilotSports will be awesome in the coming warmer weather. CrossClimates will be a good all-rounder for this year and es...
