Re: That awful colour MGB GT
After that, I packed my tools in the boot and went for another pleasant drive. A total of 50 miles this year...! ........................................................... fucking hell! I even managed to roll over a hundreds digit! Second time in my nearly two years ownership and also 16-17 years ...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
Also the level has been dropping, not rising. This is generally what happens when you drive cars... It's what I was trying to allude to in my post but badly structured it. However it is going down far more rapidly than initially expected. But then I don't know quite how these gauges are supposed to...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
Puller not arrived yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Regulator came though, it's what I expected. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190515/fb2f06d65c1fa9f6a789879bbac5fc0c.jpg A 10v regulator in a box with wires soldered on. Proper cottage industry/giffer made item. I wished the regulator was mounted on a P...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
Still waiting on the puller tool. Hopefully it'll come tomorrow. In the meantime I checked the plugs to see what they were like after the last run. Re: That awful colour MGB GT
This is the proper service tool that the workshop manual specifies: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F311539452832 Pretty sure any old puller tool will do the job, including the one use Chinese cheapies. Something like this one: https://rover.ebay.com/r...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
I was waiting for that question! ;) To put an aftermarket one on that's a bit smaller, more comfortable and nicer to hold. It's not a wooden one. However I want to keep the original one as it's likely original to the car. Like every other part I've replaced I have kept if the next custodian wishes t...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
You had removed the center nut when you were trying to get it off I take it ? A stupid question but you never know. I always put the nut back on a couple of turns then give the wheel a really good pull, wiggling it side to side. If that doesn't shift it the you will need a puller. Don't do what a f...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
I've generally shyed away from some of these single owner clubs! I always had noticed that the stands at autojumbles with the commercial suppliers, the MGB bits had the most people with many pushing you out of the way to get to the front. That put me off a bit joining the MG clubs. Saying that if yo...

Re: That awful colour MGB GT
Any suggestions on how to remove the wheel? I tried the John Twist method and gave it many good lumps with the hammer but no budging. Also given a vigorous wiggle side to side - no movement either. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190513/74fba25ed5d1bc454ec9c72c765c5d6e.jpg I'm thinking maybe putt...

Re: The autojumble, or, I should've stayed in bed, thread.
I went to Beaulieu autojumble two years ago. Absolutely pissed it down and I got soaked through. Probably clouded my view on it. However when I did escape the rain, I just thought it was full a load of old overpriced tat. I also hate having to ask for prices on everything. Especially as when I open ...
