Re: '69 Seat 1500 Funebre (and other lonely hearse's)

If I ever got put into anything as hideous as those Greek hearses when I peg it I'll come back & haunt whoever is responsible. That is a promise.

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

No result alas. Also it's a rubbish drive so I'm going to use the cooling off period and just not bother with the thing. Electronic power steering, gearbox that feels like it's slipping all the time, the leather steering wheel feels like plastic, fly-by-wire throttle that seems to have input lag, i...

^ It took me a while, but I finally worked out what that meant :-)

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

In my case, it's because it's a massive ball-ache to get the box in & out of the Disco. I'd possibly be tempted to do e.g. a Calibra box, but I've never needed to.

Also, a lot of engine stuff can be done with the lump still in the car.

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

Fair enough, more power to your elbow. I get the fear when thinking about setting up backlash and suchlike, especially when it's a complete bastard to get the box in & out of a Discovery if I spent ages learning how to do it myself & still managed to fuck up the job. I'll stick to paying peo...

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

^ This. I wouldn't touch a manual box, never mind an auto. I've done a manual (LT77 fact fans), never been inside an auto but I believe they are full of black magic & witchcraft. Saying that I'd half like to have a look & see how the buggers work. What's in the rebuild kit Max? HAha! See th...

Re: Reliable Honda Engine: a project thread

As I've mentioned before I only drive autos out of choice, but it's so I can be a better driver and get more enjoyment out of the one thing I've always wanted to do since I was a kid. That doesn't make any sense, Max. Allowing the car to change gear for you won't make you a better driver or make th...
