Re: Onslow's new motor.
On today's episode of how is it still running. First a little back story. I have arrived in Torquay yesterday for my holiday. While I'm away I left my car keys with mechanic friend. I told him to fit egr blanking plate, change PCV valve and while the inlet was off to check the swirl flips for any cra...

Re: Claim's Cabbies Corner. Fisticuffs Fun

He spent a fortune on welding and ev...

My wife's cousin has a 67 plate vivaro with just about 70k on clock. Just had to have a replacement engine in it. Seems like engines in modern vans are a replaceable service item nowadays. Suppose it saves in changing a cam chain I guess.

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
I think it was panhard that mentioned PCV valve. I'm on holiday a week tomorrow so might just throw keys at mechanic and tell him to blank off egr and replace PCV.

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
I've no idea either. After speaking to wife I think I'll just run it till October when insurance and MOT is due. See what renewal wil be and then work out if it's worth chucking it through an MOT and when it's got a ticket on either keeping it or put it up swap for a van. If it fails MOT I can get 3...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Bub if it works and is driveable I wouldn't bother compression testing as it will only make you worry. If it shows up a fault are you going to fix it when it will be bloody expensive ? Just run it into the ground unfortunatly cheap cars are now a thing of the past and a 1k car might last a year if ...

Re: Onslow's new motor.
October. I may have been an idiot though and not realised something. The smoke only happened today that I know of. A mate followed me tonight and said no smoke at all or oil smells but said the blue smoke earlier could well have been some shit burning off from the amount of carb cleaner I sprayed in...
