More photos received today. Cages for flaps have been retrieved from inlet as well as the rod, albeit in 3 pieces. Only 1 and a half flaps found though. In his opinion the engine has likely mulched the rest of the flaps and it's been like it a few thousand miles now and done before my ownership. He'...

Regards crashing,I'm trying to keep my record clean now! My points came off last Christmas,non fault claims come off in 24 and 26, fault claim comes off in 25.

I can do a James brown on it for 380. It owes 650 with tyres but it's already paid for itself so owes me pretty much nothing now.

I can understand the plastic breaking up but not the metal though. The idle stumbling was intermittent and was rectified by unplugging egr but that put on the eml so I bought a blanking plate for it. He's going to turn engine over by hand to see how valves are tomorrow.

It runs well enough. Still capable of 120 on a private road and still pulling.

I'm just confused and concerned as to where the fuck all the bits of gone and why it runs so well even in its current situation.
Looking like option 2 is a winner so far
