Re: What did you do today?

I walked past my Focus in a disinterested fashion en route to the village shop. Did the same upon my return.

Re: Crash! Bang! Wallop! - Eddie Honda Shirking His Duties Edition

^^^Well I can neither confirm nor deny that back in the mid-70s a friend and I drove around the big car park in Eltham High Street using a circa 1956 100E Anglia to push shopping trolleys around. That's the honest truth guv.

Re: EBay Finds

^^^I do quite like the R5, if this was in my neck of the woods I might have had thoughts on buying it just for shitz and giggles. And ludicrous body leaning antics when cornering with enthusiasm.

Re: Wobland Spottage

I shall echo Merc's comments, what he said. I do like that Albion lorry, I admire the people that restore and maintain old large commercials. Nice pics Mr Hugger.

Re: Dan's Crapi project.

The fuel gauge in my Impala has never really worked properly despite a couple of new sender units and changing the gauge. Despite this in my 34 years of ownership I have never run out of fuel. When I fill up I always get the receipt and write the mileage down then when it's done a few miles, say 120...

Re: Dan's Crapi project.

The badges look great, they really make a difference. Some years ago I replaced most of the ones on my Impala along with the 'Impala' letters on the rear wings, they still look good. It did help that I could just order reproductions as you can with a lot of US classics. Nice job on the starter, easy...

Re: Dan's Crapi project.

Excellent work, the Capri looks lovely. Nice colour too. I do have a soft spot for all the Capris including the Consul version (I used to drive about in one back in the 70s). I'm guessing that the Mk2 model is the rarest, I can't remember when I last saw one. Mind you I can't remember what I was doi...

Re: Found pics

It is a shame that she was scrapped. Grandfather Impala drove a Morris Quad with 25 pounder gun attached which he had to abandon about 25 miles from Dunkirk, he and his fellow soldiers then walked to Dunkirk whilst occasionally under fire. We do know that towards the end of May he and his unit were ...

Re: Austin A70 Hampshire - back on the road!

I watched the BBC1 series 'Ten Pound Poms' last night which is about er, poms emigrating to Australia for a tenner. Anyway it's set in about 1956 and one of the vehicles that makes street scene appearances is a dark blue Hampshire, probably Antrim Blue as per the model version that we both own. Nice...

The Royal Daffodil, 1948. She was a Dunkirk veteran Rock & Roll Footnote.... Both Jerry Lee Lewis and Gene Vincent gave concert performances aboard the ship whilst crossing, in 1962 and 1963. On a Dunkirk 1940 note, not only is she credited with rescuing thousands of soldiers but my brother did...
