Re: Cars you never wanted but ended up with and quite liked.

Renault 9TL. Brother took it in part exchange for his XR4x4 when he bought a V12 XJS. Renault was a lovely comfy economical car.

Re: Cortina Capers. What are yours?

Father had a mark 2 1.3 WMY 713G. Used to tow our caravan with it in the 70’s. Caravans must have been a lot lighter then! I bought a 2.0 GL mark 5 in 1986-SMS 519X I think. was starting to rust at 4 years old. Went well and was comfy. Cousin had a mark 5 2.3 Ghia S auto at the same time- OMD 947X- ...

Sierra, Royale and Range Rover update.

Sierra is used several times a day and is providing sterling service. Royale has a problem with over fuelling. Filling the sump with unburnt fuel and tremendous fuel fumes from exhaust. Have changed all electrical sensors, ECU, injection system -all that's left is the fuel pump. Also changed the lea...

Re: What did you do today?

Luckily whilst playing with this my Range Rover decides to go up in smoke. Amplifier unit in door self combusted (wet?) and has taken out the wi...

Re: Building the Leg End. The Old Jag thread.

Here's mine. First one is a 1970 Daimler Sovereign 2.8 manual BTG 708J with overdrive. Bought it in 1989 I think-here it is with my late father in that year being used as a wedding car for a friend. The second one is my brothers XJS V12HE B20 XJS. He bought this in 97 I think. Cracking car-this is m...

Re: What did you do today?

Put a best offer in for my Range Rover on Boxing Day 2006 (I was totally sober) and found out the next morning the offer had been accepted. Picked it up 2 days later from near Southampton - over 100 miles away. Still got it and use it a couple of times a week. Used it most days when I was working. B...

Re: Steering wobble

Funny you should say that about the calliper-the front was sticking in the week and I freed it off. Had a wobble today so will check again. Thanks.
