- Clutch delay valve removed. What's one of them? Ben It's a valve that delays the clutch.... I've seen them on Tdi LRs too, basically a restrictor in the hydraulic line. In theory to stop you dumping the clutch too hard, but in practice seems to make zero difference except one less place to leak w...

I thought the engines in the Lotus were okay to work on, which was just as well given how often they need attention! I had to pull the engine out of my Excel as the rear oil seal had gone walkies and, as it was such a sod to get out (engine and gearbox have to come out together) I rebuilt the engin...
