Re: What does your car say about you?
I've never understood this continued berating of grey porridge motors. We all know they were largely limited in lifespan, ability, desirability and performance but fuck me most people in the 50s and 60s wouldn't have got near a car unless they had very enthusiastic and/or wealthy parents. Folk who ...

I was half expecting my F-Type Victor to appear! The tatty worn looking E-Series Wyvern/Velox is great, old rundown car but with cherished number plate ACT1. The Magnette in the last photo has a plate that could be where it would end up, WMB for Wimbledon Stadium where many of them ended their days.

I went to a show a few years ago and somebody had built a Beetle/Allegro estate in the same vein as that MGB/VW. I think the phrase that comes to mind is 'just because you can doesn't mean you should'.

The drivers of the Urus and Cullinan should be fined for owning cars that are ugly and having no taste in motor vehicles.

Re: 40 Glorious Years Of Road Totalitarianism
I passed my driving test in March 1972 and bought a 1962 Anglia which didn't have seat belts, did have a hole in the floor and crunchy sills etc. Being a 17yo imbecile I used to whizz about in it without a care in the world and no regard for my own safety. My mum then said that they had bought me a ...

Re: Austin A55 Cambridge
Very nice acquisition. Is that the Tweed Grey livery? If so you'll need to get the Lansdowne model of it and yes I have one :-) When I moved into my first house in Margate back in 1986 my neighbour was an ex-RAF Bomber Command WW2 veteran, a lovely chap by the name of Stan Candy. He told me that he ...

My 1961 Impala had a 'Y' plate as it was imported in whenever that was, 1982? The Minor does have the look of an ex-MOD vehicle as said by mr animals, they did have quite a few of them.

Re: Are you still a car enthusiast?
I still am but as I'm getting older I have found that I'm beginning to loathe driving much because cretins allowed out who can operate a vehicle but cannot actually drive one. It seems that every time I go out in my Focus I either get some bellend racing up behind me, quite often in a wanker tanker,...
