Re: What did you do today?

Got the new voice synthesiser from Germany today. I was a bit worried if it would be correct but now the 25 talks to me in English !! A silly thing really and certainly not cheap at 180 quid but it does improve things no end to know what it is going on about when it starts bleeping at me.

Re: EBay Finds

Yeah caught me there with a cheeky bid on the blue 928. I have been out bid now which is no surprise. Most of the auctions are written by the photorapher who I was told was a motoring "jounalist". Yeah it may be a load of bollocks but it does work and will get the best price for the seller...

Re: EBay Finds

Petrol is now under 150.9 in most places. Who's is feeling brave? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/656494999306557/ https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/656494999306557/ That is a little bit tempting but the rear arches do look a bit too rough as I still think of these as cheap bangers.

Re: Pug 107, citroen relay and '54 tt quattro

The Pork is by far the better car. The driver runs out of talent way before the car will. I managed to scare myself silly in my old Boxster driving like a twat down a B road when I came across a 90 degree bend going way too fast. I didn't think it would make it but the car went round like it was on ...

Re: What did you do today?

Older cars are far far lighter, most have skinny tyres and a lack of power all helps in the snow. ABS and ESP are total crap in snow and should be turned off. I saw a BMW 328 E30 go through a hedge as it couldn't make it up a hill and the ABS kept cutting in when it was rolling back down so no chanc...

Re: What did you do today?

Missed a phone call this afternoon whilst driving and found out later it was from an auction I had left a bid on. Apparently I was the winning bidder on this Citroen DS. Although it was supposed to be no reserve and it didn't even get to my £1k max bid they now won't sell it. This was through ibidde...

Re: What did you do today?

Today I spent way too much money buying an English speaking voice synth for the Renault 25. The daft thing is it is coming from the Netherlands which is the last place I expected to find an English synth. I just hope it does the trick when it turns up, as I am fed up with it talking French to me. At...

Re: EBay Finds

I think it is errors with car and classic rather than the froggy's hiding stuff. On that black one there was actually a photo of the gearbox bill which had the car listed as a 60 series Caddy which it was rather than the 62 it was listed as. I think all the French Yanks are coming from the same sell...

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again

Have you any form of night heater for it? I slept in the back of my van at Frazer's and it was probably the coldest I've ever been. I hardly slept a wink. He doesn't live at Le mans though. Thats just being a wimp having a heater. Vans are colder to sleep in though. I have kipped in a Renault 25 in...
