Re: Do EVs make sense to you?

Maybe the heaters are having to raise the cab temperature a lot more than the aircon has to cool it. Getting the cab to 20+ when it’s 5 or less outside is more of a challenge than keeping it at 22 when it’s 24 outside.

Re: Do EVs make sense to you?

BMW i3s are looking more tempting prices. I hate that they ruined their otherwise hi-tech effort by bunging an old motorbike engine in the back to boost the batteries (like that Top Gear effort with the generator in it), unlike GM and Toyota who bothered to properly integrate their motors- particula...

Re: Do EVs make sense to you?

Just as an aside I'm 100% in agreement with the view that they're too expensive. It's going to be a while before they are at a level to be equal with my Merc. Cost £1850, has already done 200K miles and remains viable. Plenty of space. And the killer - Range 650 miles on a single "charge"...

Re: Mini Memories. What are yours?

I have never owned nor driven a Mini either - been a passenger in a few including my Ma's 1961 Austin Seven.

Re: Mini Memories. What are yours?

Nver been a fan of the horrid little things. I struggle to fit in them which is one of the reasons I don't like them the other is uncomfortable, slow, rusty, needy bloody things. I have a late cooper coming in on Thursday that the owner adores. It has been a nightmare though in the limited miles sh...

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again

That’s a lovely old thing. The pre-V8 ones always seem more purist Rover to me.

Re: 1966 Plymouth Fury 3

A bit late as ever but those front turn/park lamp units look very similar to the 1967-68 AMC Rebel ones. On closer inspection I don't think they are identical but very similar design. On the AMC the same basic units (but with a single contact bulb holder) are used for the reversing lights too, with ...

Re: 2003 Mercedes E320 CDI Estate

I messaged the seller (off the beige) to ask about the spare key (he said he had one but couldn’t find it). He hasn’t answered.

Re: 2003 Mercedes E320 CDI Estate

It's as shabby as feck and the bit of the front bumper that had been glued has fallen out at some point. Last week the front offside indicator bulb failed and it came up as a warning - it also helpfully told me it was substituting the fog light. I looked really odd with it flashing the indicators at...

Re: 2003 Mercedes E320 CDI Estate

Yesterday I went to (near) Bristol and back in the day and it never missed a beat.
