The steering play will be in the adjustable column splines. Get a 32mm spanner on the column nut under the dash and give it a tighten. I put the spanner on the nut, rest the spanner end on the transmission tunnel and heave the wheel clockwise.

That Clubman is a bit of a crossover model - it has the mid 1976 on newer colour and trim, but Mark 3 switches and badges. It might have a solid mount front 'frame. Mark 4's had the rubber mount front frame and twin column stalks as well as different rocker switches and different seats that this one...

That's the new one that's actually a Peugeot.
The original Trafic was a Renault also built in Luton as a Vivaro and Nissan Primastar.
The second gen was A Trafic/Vivaro only. Still built as a Trafic.
The current Vivaro is a PSA van. Vaux/Pug/Cit/Fiat.

Yeah, that extra weight and backend must affect the dynamics of it. 70s BL weren't exactly going to engineer that out either. I wouldn’t entertain £5000 Minis. The eighties ones are just shit. You’ve got to have 10” wheels and centre speedo. I would fix and sell the Dolomitic and buy a really proper one.
