Re: Found pics
My dad had a late Zephyr 4 (he was always too mean to buy a 6), I recall that it was Purbeck Grey with a red interior. I saw it in the late 70's parked in a side road looking shabby. They were nice cars, very spacious with a huge boot but they did like to rust. My dad's one was traded in for a Mk4 D...

Re: Hideous Yank
My first American car was a 59 Impala like that blue/white one except mine was RHD. And quite rusty.

Re: What did you do today?
My previously mentioned neighbour has told me stories about the Falklands Vulcan mission, he did say that it was touch and go as to whether it would be successful. The BBMF and East Kirkby guys have a lot of respect for each other and often help out if there's a problem. I've attached a couple of ph...

Re: What did you do today?
I was lucky enough to be given a taxi ride on Just Jane for my 60th birthday, I was nigh on 61 when the day finally arrived. It was superb, so moving to be on such an iconic aircraft but remembering those who didn't come home was sobering. East Kirkby is a great place to visit, so much to see and do...

Re: What did you do today?
Or what did I do on Sunday being as it's now Tuesday. Having not driven my Anglia for two years I decided to give it a go so wandered into the garage and fired up its mighty 997cc and reversed it out of its sleeping chamber. It was running nicely so ventured out onto the highway for a little run int...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
I expect I will probably die with it in this state and my poor daughter will have to sell it. In spite of it all I do love the old thing. I'd love to know who bought it new, in London in 1956. It is a factory RHD that came here brand new and has never been anywhere else. I have been in touch with a...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
I think the appropriate pricing level at this time ran - Chev/Pontiac/Buick/Olds/Cadillac. Actual retailing was less than transparent back then with factory price lists virtually a trade secret and the dealers were left to squeeze what they could from the buyers. Also each line's top models tended ...

I know that Consul and it's absolutely gorgeous. Seller is a good mate of mine and knows these cars inside out.

Re: What did you do today?
Cheers, it'll be 61 in October. Big plus is that it has never been restored so that is Dagenham's finest paint effort complete with some runs. First owner kept it for 30 years. No I am very bad at moving it about but the tyres are fine albeit pretty old so could do with being replaced next year, The...

Re: What did you do today?
I have fearfully neglected my poor little Anglia for quite a while, think the last time it was out on the road terrorising other motorists with its mighty 39bhp was August 2018, that was also the last time it visited a petrol station. Last June/July I started it, moved it out of the garage and let i...
