Re: What did you do today?

Had this dropped off to me today for a short loan. Bloody hell, its going to save me hours and hours of actual physical exertion.

Only drove it around my garden for ten minutes and already know I'm going to buy it.

It's a 1980/81 Massey Ferguson147.

Found out that from 21st September 2021 UK citizens driving their UK vehicle abroad now need to display a "UK" sticker, instead of "GB":

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances

From Wikipedia :The EGR valve was invented in the United States in the 1970s. Tested for the first time by the American giant, General Motors, it reduces toxic gas emissions by re-using 5% to 35% of the exhaust gases. European anti-pollution standards made it mandatory in diesel vehicles". Bast...

This was a post on a bike forum I am on: 20210831_185016.jpg Someone rang up about it, and the seller said he sold it for a grand* Very much doubt that it was nothing but a joke listing, designed to suck.in as many chancer as possible, rather than to scam money. A bit like the "old Escort/Capri...

Re: Have you ever had this happen? Stupid breakdowns.

Went to look at a Mercedes 300E, was OK overall, just a few little niggley things wrong with it. Looked like it had been through a car wash before I got there, body panels and tyre side walls all shiney. A couple of weeks later after a service a d gearbox flush, I was enjoying a spirited drive along...

Re: What did you do today?

I get gusts of 70kph-90 up here on occassions, one of which blew my outside table off of the terrace, and smashed to pieces against a tree.

140 mph winds sound terrifying. Hope things aren't as bad as forecast.

Re: What did you do today?

Went out on the Enfield yesterday afternoon as I needed some paint thinners. I took the opportunity to ride a bit further to have a look at the other end of the mountain range I live on. I usually ride early morning or late afternoon, but as the need for thinners was great, I went out early afternoo...

Re: Two wheels good.

How can you never have heard of a Vincent? they are probably the most beautiful bike ever made. I'd love one if it wasn't for the cost meaning you could never use it to tour as it was built for. Well if I won the lottery, I'd have one and a Brough Superior, and ride them everyday. Some models are s...

Re: Mercedes Benz C Class, opinions please

We had a C180 manual on the fleet at work, which must have been a 1990 model. It was quite slow compared to all the other cars, even though it was a manual, but was very comfortable to drive for many hours. I remember it as the team made an appeal to keep it longer, even though it was over the age a...

I am losing the will with it.
Has the points gap closed up?

Sorry. I've had a few beers now
