Re: I hope it's safe to post this in here, Ami 8/2cv parts interchangibility

Well, the Ami arrived at my workshop yesterday, assesment so far is that it needs a body mount at the back welding together, it has a flywheel oil seal leak, the carb is pissing fuel out the top and the brake lines are not properly routed/secure, and the petrol hose is a bit degraded so wants swappi...

Re: Hello

Been signed up for a while but never posted , until now. Atleast one of you knows me in real life as I run the MoT station in....Barnack. On the same industrial estate as Practical Classics workshop so , unfortunately , myself and my workshop have been in the mag. Usually my best side, the back of ...

I hope it's safe to post this in here, Ami 8/2cv parts interchangibility

My brother doesn't do forums much these days and only really glances at AS. Some of you have probably seen that Stinkwheel sold his Ami 8 on the beige to an unknown shitter, and that I'd tagged my brother Drew on there teasing him about not buying it because he's sensible, and although he wants one ...

Magneto recurve and guvnor removal

I have an old scintilla vertex from a VW industrial engine that I want to use in a a road car. To do that I need to remove the rev limit guvnor and have it recurved to match either a Bosch 009 or 010 distributor ( and can supply advance curve graphs). Bit of a dying art there days.. anyone know a pe...

Re: Land Rover Name Killed Off By JLR

it's an odd one this. Ford, in the US especially are trying to deny their motoring heritage too. It sort of makes you wonder if it's because of the general view that motorised conveyances with an Internal Combustion engine are bad, therefore we should deny that it ever happened. That said, the new a...

Re: What did you do today?

So will I,the Cloud Rose Gazelle hasn't seen daylight for two years but it's coming out this week one way or the other. Hasn't been on the road this century so maybe it's about time. IMG_20221026_144232.jpg Classy looking car that. I have to confess, I know absolutely nothing about these. I do sort...

Re: What did you do today?

Got a subframe in the right place on a modern Jag XJ L that we have in.

Began fixing the MOT advisories on my SLK 230.

Had a fight with the bottom balljoint, and beat it.

Failed to service my Mondeo.

Failed to do the rear brake pipes and Flexi hoses on the SLK.

Ate a creme egg.
