Re: 1985 BMW E28 520i
Pray to God that you don't need a new clutch master cylinder. They are unique to the E28/E24, are BMW only and are hundreds of pounds. If they leak you'll see fluid inside the car via the pedal box. Later 525e and M30 cars used the E30 style cylinder that bolts to the (different) pedal box inside th...

Re: 1985 BMW E28 520i
It's a later one with a single red SI light. Bargain if it works. From memory your spare green connector is for the OBC but you don't need it. That rotor arm isn't original as these all had the rev limiter rotor arm, standard Bosch 1234332344 as fitted to loads of cars from Alfas to Volvos. That wa...

Re: Retiring abroad
The Polish are more RAAAACIST! than we are. Having been invaded by the Germans and Russkis, they're not letting hordes of immigrants in at this stage. It's a lovely country now they've thrown off that communism bullshit.

Re: 1985 BMW E28 520i
Certain US 528e (Federal 525e) cars don’t have the SI system due to EPA laws, but 533i’s will. Motronic makes no difference. The cluster internals are shared with the E24 from mid 82 and were first seen in the E23 mid 81. My old man worked for BMW GB 82-84 as technical manager, running the workshop,...

Re: Retiring abroad
My folks moved to Canada in 2006, my uncle to France (50 miles inland from Marseilles) around 2012. My mother doesn’t care for Britain much, uncle absolutely despises it. My old man passed in 2010 but would never have come back.

Re: 1985 BMW E28 520i
Thankfully I left all that behind yonks ago. The E32 from 1986 did away with the batteries.
