That mpg wasn't under my right foot. I hadn't reset the trip computer until I left it with Major Tom. (Because the legend had worn off the end of the indicator stalk and hadn't Googled how it worked )

I've got a load of updates I can't be arsed writing up at the minute, so I'll try and do this bit by bit, in no particular order.
