Re: Austin A70 Hampshire

I believe it's the old grease in the speedo that creates resistance on the cable. As the cable is effectively a spring, it winds up from the resistance and then it's wound up enough to then let go. This causes the speedo needle to jump faster. The cycle repeats. Lubing the cable can help but it's us...

Re: 1979 Trouble Spitfire

Everytime you look closer, the design of that fuse box gets even worse. Unsurprisingly I don't think it lasted much longer and went on any other cars. I seem to remember seeing similar on maybe the Allegro? I don't even understand why it was made of thermoplastics? Maybe because it's cheap to produc...

Re: Cars For Sale on the Roadside (not eBay)

Is scrawling "Kia" on a Fiesta tail-gate latch the Blackpool equivalent of Lexus tail lights, I wonder.....? I'd imagine there be a few Fezzer lickers would give coin for those window deflectors too. Come, on man, chip in four of you and drive it home. Be a great thread.... I wasn't sure ...

Re: 1979 Trouble Spitfire

I went for a drive yesterday to check the accuracy of my speedo trip odometer and see if that's accurate or not compared to the speed indication. Anyway I started losing electricity. Firstly the horn then all the lights. Melted the fusebox! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230603/489947bef6c2b3eb6...

Re: What did you do today?

My "daily" is the TT but I only use it once a week to the train station. Mrs SiC drops me off the two other days.

But still need something to run around to the shops/gym/etc.

Re: What did you do today?

Sell it and buy a P4 to daily is the only logical conclusion in my mind.

Is the Chrysler FWD or RWD? I can't remember!
If RWD and longitundal engine then surely can't be that bad a job to change the pump?

Re: Cars For Sale on the Roadside (not eBay)

Ah he's just trying to tickle me. I've been through a lot of cars and the vast majority are still on the road. Certainly haven't had any real complaints from those that have bought cars off me either. Some have been bought as projects but others just routine maintenance that's been deferred. Very fe...

Re: Cars For Sale on the Roadside (not eBay)

I have an unwritten rule never to travel into Birmingham to buy a car. Every time I have the car has been a hunk of junk. The photos of cars in Birmingham always look shit so I dread to think what they're like in person. I'll never buy a (cheap) car from Bristol, especially any dealers. Virtually e...

Don't need to use it all, all of the time.
