Re: What did you do today?
I have to admit that I didn't do it but my mechanic chappie finally took my 20yo Primera for its MoT, slightly late as it had the 18 month version and was thus due to be tested along with bloody everyone else's vehicle. He brought it back with a lovely pass and a promise to service it soon-ish. I am...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
Hah so you've been to Billing back in the days when it wasn't too bad? I have to boast that both my '61 Impala bubbletop and the '59 have won 'Best Chevrolet':-) For what that's worth. I've had Murican cars since 1976, think I've met most of the knobs and know it all/know fuck all brigade. I have to...

Re: Wobland Spottage
You were about two miles from where I live then. I like the Surfleet cafe, good to see it's open again. I'd walked along the river from the reservoir. Don't forget my proposed Eastern Wob meet next spring. Bog rolls are in short supply again where I am near Bourne, I see it's spirit levels with you...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
Bet all those '59 Chevys have been scrapped :-(. I know I am biased but I just love them for some reason. My Corgi Toys police car was one of my favourites when I was young so perhaps that planted a seed. A RHD survivor has recently come to light still with its original plate 3DUP. Hopefully somebod...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
I shall have to lookout for that book, I have Volumes 1-5 of the general photos but not a Chevy one. Such a shame that he passed away. There were a fair few cars around although they were very expensive to buy new. That said they were of course a status symbol for many buyers. As they got older thou...

Re: 1956 Chevrolet 210
Very nice find! That '59 Impala in the background belonged to a friend of mine and was also an original RHD import car. It was pretty nice then and even appeared in a Sunday Times supplement in 1970. He visited me on one occasion when I had my RHD '59 so there were two parked together in a side road...

Re: Found pics
My dad had a late Zephyr 4 (he was always too mean to buy a 6), I recall that it was Purbeck Grey with a red interior. I saw it in the late 70's parked in a side road looking shabby. They were nice cars, very spacious with a huge boot but they did like to rust. My dad's one was traded in for a Mk4 D...

Re: Hideous Yank
My first American car was a 59 Impala like that blue/white one except mine was RHD. And quite rusty.

Re: What did you do today?
My previously mentioned neighbour has told me stories about the Falklands Vulcan mission, he did say that it was touch and go as to whether it would be successful. The BBMF and East Kirkby guys have a lot of respect for each other and often help out if there's a problem. I've attached a couple of ph...
