Re: Found pics

Note how, in few short years, men had gone from being properly attired to looking like one of the Rubettes. The guy above that last dude (brown Plymouth Duster I think it is) looks exactly like my 1972 Form Tutor at school. He had a shitbox 1100, though.... Grandma's Sport Fury is I believe the sam...

Re: Found pics

Interesting variety there, I am wondering if it's something like the Tour de France or Alpine Rally. A couple of Ferrari 275 GTBs along with a pair of Alfa TZs. Hordes of Renault 8 Gordinis and a couple of Porsche 904s. And a Skoda! Not sure what #36 is but could be a Glas. Splendid Daf 33.

Re: Found pics

When in the US in '81 mainly to visit the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals in Indianapolis there was the opportunity to drive around the famous racetrack. I was staying with a friend who had a custom '58 Impala and as we entered the track there was a circa 1960/1 Super Snipe parked inside the trac...

Lovely Granada but look at the bloody size of that Polo next to it. I can remember when they were small economy cars.

Re: Found pics

There have been one or two 2 door PA conversions, must be a bugger of a job. Maybe best to buy a '58 Belair or Studebaker Champion in the first place?! That Wolfie'd Jag reminds me of one that was in Custard Cart or similar back in the Seventies. Flared out like that one, I have an idea it was call...

Lane hoggers are fucking idiots as are tailgaters. I've lost count of how many times you encounter the hoggers as they trundle along quite often with their noses seemingly pressed against the windscreen looking terrified.

Re: EBay Finds

Buick looks nice and straight, however an eight litre motor? Hmmm, unless it's been fitted with a 455ci/7.5L motor that's been played with I would doubt that it's eight litres. Such a engine would also require some upgrading of the brakes. I like that it sounds nice and turns heads, that's probably...

Re: Found pics

The estates are so rare aren't they? I can't remember the last time I saw one especially a Gazelle. Regarding the Snipe being on the telly I wonder if it was supplied by the Rootes publicity department, they were pretty good at product placement for films and TV back then.
