Changed the fan belt on the Snipe. I dare say the one which shed its outer covers would have gone on for a few hundred, if not thousand, miles more. I put it in the boot as a get-you-home spare. Which reminds me, I'm picking my old station wagon up this weekend, to which effect I went to the car parts store in Longsight and bought 4.5 litres of Comma 20w50 for £9. It does like to go through oil and will be fed this until I rebuild it soon.

Many people have a dislike, even hatred of them. Granted, they were cheaply cobbled together and the saloons are basically shopping cars, but they get under your skin. There are many and diverse versions of them due to the length of time they were in production.
