Re: Ancient LR musings

The series 2 club would be working themselves into a lather about your '59. They have a register of them. They also like to scrutinise every detail to see if it's genuine. Yours looks like it has the bolt on vents which is a good sign along with the light bezels and flat apron. They are surprisingl...

Re: Ancient LR musings

My old man bought a very used early series 11 with the 2 litre rover diesel and nice screw type vent openers. It was a working vehicle, and with money tight, the holes in the canvas got bigger and rainy days were no fun. He was eventually helped out by a friend, Jim Davenport, who worked at Solihull...

Re: Ancient LR musings

A lot of Landrovers had the Perkins 4203, I've owned 2 of these 3.3l 60 bhp lumps that fill the space up well. They went into Commer vans and lots of other things including the earlier Massey 165 (or 65, can't quite remember) tractors.Fork lift and agric ones have differences though. Torquey enough ...

Re: What did you do today?

I hope I've solved the difficulty of squeezing an air cleaner under my series 1's bonnet. The old one had to have a hose crossing over the top of the engine to reach the Renault Prima one squeezed into the offside which I can't find any new elements for. There's no room to fit an complete airbox on ...
