No, small practical fins are fine. My late mother's first car was a Triumph Herald. She said you could see all the corners of the car from the driving seat because small fins. She was always* right.

Yes John, you are very wrong, it only applies to the larger variety. Restrained, modest and small European fins are excluded. Anything excessively huge is just decadent peacocking bilge.
