I will probably be roundly derided for this, but I think these are one of my favourite automotive designs.
Nothing wrong with a Panhard 24 they are fun little things and I really regret selling mine and keep looking for another

If that is still there in June I will be trying to buy it, even if the Thunderbird hasn't been sold.

Re: Tales of the Thunderturd

Well the side trims finally made it through customs (it took them 9 days to clear grrrr) Nice and easy to fit but not exactly a perfect fit as they are reproductions but still look good. I have got the screen fitters coming over on tuesday to put the screens back in then it is just a case of putting...

Re: '69 Seat 1500 Funebre (and other lonely hearse's)

Well this fucker just wants to have all my car fettling funds. The new fuel pump was fitted then it decided to start playing the old misfire game that it had when I first bought it. It has now fouled the plugs up as it is running way too rich and no end of adjusting the carb makes a difference. So t...

Re: Tales of the Thunderturd

Look at that fascinatingly elaborate ventilation setup below the rear window. They didn't skimp on anything. The rear vents are operated by the vacuum system from a switch on the dash. The system also operates the power locks and the parking brake release. I have no idea how much of it works but I ...

Tales of the Thunderturd

Ok here we go again now we seem to have a proper home. The quick recap ! I was looking for a new project at the end of last year and started out looking at Corvair's in the USA, but things went a bit wrong and somehow I ended up buying this '65 Thunderbird blind from a slightly dodgy geezer in Los A...

Re: '69 Seat 1500 Funebre (and other lonely hearse's)

It is certainly a pump problem as the filter nearest the carb is almost dry and only gets a trickle of fuel through it. I will go through the lines again and fit another new electric pump and hope that sorts it as I have a few long trips lined up for it over the next couple of months.

Re: '69 Seat 1500 Funebre (and other lonely hearse's)

Yeah, but it'll take ages for all the crud being flushed through all the pipes and stuff. It took weeks on Conrad's Rover. Also, are you running it on the mech, or on the elec fuel pump atm? What a farce this has been the poxy thing packed up again this morning. It is fuel starvation again. I tried...
