Diesel VWs have dmf but I didn't think a wee petrol would. The symptoms are similar to the two times I've had one fail.

A rattle in neutral then a vibration when driving under load. Proportional to the speed of the engine, not the wheels.

That'll be why I couldn't get the handbrake to free off.

It was laid up last year with the handbrake off but the good old Scottish corrosion has worked its magic.

Both sides the same. Drums were fun to remove.
