Check the gearbox ecu for oil in it. Had a Merc filled the autobox ecu with transmission fluid years ago, there is a seal on the wiring plug into the box that was a poor design allowing oil to find it's way up the inner core of the loom.

I personally would avoid both as modern kraut stuff is just shite, there again I have zero taste and bugger all sense when buying cars.
