It must be the one then. Hopefully he has been able to recode the used body computer as it went back order with VW and the poxy van has been sitting there 4 weeks now.

To save me going down there was that a Jersey reg transporter parked there ? I know it was being picked up this morning for a body control computer to be coded in and it looks like he has finished it as it was facing the other way yesterday.

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again

Spent a little bit of time on the Hotchkiss yesterday wiring the dashboard and having a look at the gear selection. I forgot to take pictures so you will have to wait for something exciting. The wiring replacement is coming along and all the lights will be on seperate relays so as to put less load t...

Re: What did you do today?

I had a Megane dropped a valve years ago and that cranked but sounded odd. Had a fault code for low fuel pressure. It turned out when the valve went it smashed the nozzle off the injector. As it was common rail all the fuel pumped out the broken injector which stopped the rest from firing. Maybe tak...

Re: Found pics

Well the levels of rot are about right for a Jensen Healey but the light surrounds were plastic on mine and the wheels don't quite look right so I am going Datsun. No doubt I will be wrong and the earlier Healeys may of had steel headlight surrounds.

Re: I seem to of done something stupid yet again

For anyone wondering what 300 quids worth of sidelights looks like here you go !. I am so glad I stomped up the extra and bought the long ones as the wings are recessed under the lamps so fitting the more common short ones would look shit. Royal fail did actually do their job properly with the duty ...

Re: 2 seater Merc.

Check the gearbox ecu for oil in it. Had a Merc filled the autobox ecu with transmission fluid years ago, there is a seal on the wiring plug into the box that was a poor design allowing oil to find it's way up the inner core of the loom.

Re: EBay Finds

I personally would avoid both as modern kraut stuff is just shite, there again I have zero taste and bugger all sense when buying cars.

Re: EBay Finds

Not a bad old P6 but what is with all the bollocks description. It's a series 2 TC so why all the series one SC bollocks a '73 will always be a series 2 and it isn't just a case of bunging a couple of carbs on, the heads are different. I expect the photo of the rotten sill will put a lot off but it ...

Re: What did you do today?

I didn't think £300 was too bad for that. There is a surcharge on that as I need it done quicker than the 9 week lead time. If I could wait 9 weeks it would of been £200. Impatient flash git! 9 weeks without a steering wheel will cause a bit of an issue as I have to pretend to do paying work as wel...
