Re: 1968 MG Midget

Drilled out a whole load of holes ready for plug welding. Dropped my drill and bent my new sodding drill bit after this. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230129/a658985952cb1463b9251a224fd356a1.jpg Aligned the panels up to check for fit and tacked the outer sill into place. I went for a slightly h...

Re: EBay Finds

I thought these are worth twice to triple this went for? That said, imagine spending this and finding out it's a filler up bastard. https://themarket.twic.pics/5163a09f-2a8c-4fc0-a2ae-6fa016bc285e.jpg?twic=v1/resize=700 https://themarket.bonhams.com/en/listings/aston-martin/db6-mk2/678a3819-98ae-4d3...

Re: EBay Finds

I don't usually like these earlier ones but I quite like this one. Lack of pictures outside does make me think the paint maybe exceedingly buggered. https://assets.carandclassic.com/uploads/cars/triumph/C1544534/1969-triumph-spitfire-63d3e764f1690.jpg?ixlib=php-3.3.1&s=9b72b67eac8e3bc4dda66c71c...

Re: EBay Finds

Looks to be long dead. Potentially never even making the DVLA computerisation in the 70s/80s as they are not showing anything at all.

Re: What did you do today?

I don't think my garage diesel heater is appreciating my skinflint used engine oil/brake fluid/carb cleaner/duff petrol mix. Fourth attempt at firing up. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230128/45f1a8a584a1aa374b0303822bc5286a.jpg Probably caused a few more king penguins floating off towards the o...

Re: EBay Finds

You'd need to be out of your tiny mind. 30 grand? Fuck off! [emoji38] Or someone who wants the best and has enough money that they don't give a crap how much it'd cost. Thinking here on a recent retiree with a high six or seven figure pension that had one when they were younger and trying to relive...

So I don't get told off for keeping putting some fantastic British bangers in here and, instead, look at Italian stuff...

Re: EBay Finds

Good job Dunlow is miles away from here.
It didn't feel like long ago (3 to 5 years maybe?) they were all this price.

Re: EBay Finds

I mean it's probably the best one you could buy, but surely the market for a £30k Spitfire is pretty limited? That said, I could imagine a wealthy retiring boomer having fond memories of one when younger and wanting the best. Probably mostly to stare at rather than drive. https://assets.carandclassi...
