Yep, I reckon any Mk5-onwards Golf GTI fits the bill. Of course any sign of a window tint or lowered spring marks them out as a scrote-mobile, like every! fucking! one! I've tried to buy recently.

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
IIRC Fairey winches (a subsidiary of the Manchester-based Fairey aviation company, and later spun off to Superwinch) were always based in Tavistock. You can see the "overdrive by Fairey" sticker on the top right, with a helpful "overdrive by Superwinch" one below.. Do you still h...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Does anyone know where the OVERDRIVE sticker in the middle of the tailgate came from? It almost looks factory and seems like a BLARG font but I've never seen one before or since, and can't think of another car from the period that A: had an overdrive and B: advertised it quite so fucking loudly.

Re: Stage One (Two)
Are there four others there? Think we're up to 11 now. To be restored or enjoyed as is? Needs restoring, but it's mega straight - an incredible stroke of luck has landed me a secondhand, never fitted, V8 specific galv chassis for 1500 quid. Coming tomorrow! Nice is it ex fire service? No sir, the V...

Stage One (Two)
Hey lads, remember when I was cock-a-hoop with my '58 Series II? How it was the bollocks, and it was exactly what I wanted, and how the only thing I would ever want to replace it with would be a Series III Stage 1 V8, which are like rocking horse shit, and the only ones left are restored and £££, so...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Not historic tax class though, it meets the 30 year rule for import duty relief but falls just shy of the 40 year rule for MOT exemption. As it stands I’ve filled in everything I can on the V55/5 and stuck it in with a paper V890 application for SORN and a covering letter explaining the deal. It’s o...

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Another NOVA question - I’ve got the letter from HMRC which will allow me to register the vehicle - but the DVLA are telling me to fill in a V55/5 application for first vehicle tax and registration. I can’t tax it - it’s nowhere near roadworthy and needs to be SORNed. Any ideas? Panhard looking at y...
