Re: EBay Finds

Lovely cars from the pre brutalism era. The V8 would be my choice, go big or go home. When I was flogging telecoms back in the late '80s I was pitching to the big boss of the overpriced vacuum cleaner company Kirby who had a red 560 SEC. He badly needed a fax machine and although we had a cheap one...

So a Liverpudlian wide boy can't nick a g astra ,even with the steering lock off ?

The last immobiliser I could bypass was the early 90s Ford Safeguard system.

112mph ! Er , mot history , n.s rear tyre cracked perishing, o.s rear tyre cracked perishing ...
I've given them a robust inspection and couldn't find any cracking. I have access to tyres at trade prices and if I thought they were bad I'd have swapped them pronto.

That'll be why it was a bit hard to start when Warren had a go.
In fact, it must have been him that broke it.
If you think that's bad then you really need to try pedal starting a pre '77 moped.

Or take the chip out and tape it to the immo ring so both keys work. But don't tell the internet you did that. Astra G remote central locking will need resynchronizating. Google it and you'll find the dance you need to do. Iirc you put the key in, turn on while pushing the unlock button. Or somethi...

Re: Epic Collection. I broke it. (sort of)

Have a look on the floor of the car for the little immobiliser chip, it's fallen out the key. The thing is, I had the same type key for my Omega Elite and that regularly refused to let me remove the key out of the ignition requiring me to separate the blade from the body of the key but even then I ...

Re: Epic Collection. I broke it. (sort of)

I was racking my brains to remember what the driving experience reminds me of. You'd think either Mk3 Astra or Vectra B but it feels totally different to the Mk3 Astra, which drives like a slightly smaller Mk3 Cavalier, and The Vectra B has a totally different feel at the wheel with worse steering. ...
