Considering the 948cc Sprite isn't exactly a spritely thing, the A55 would definitely need that extra low down torque to have even a half decent chance of getting to any speed. Road tests seem to suggest the standard Sprite is only 4 seconds faster to 60mph than a 1.5 Cambridge, a giddy 20 seconds....

Googling suggests an extra 25lb/ft of torque 1000rpm lower than the Frogeye.

The car was pretty much freshly restored when imported. I think it was a documented full on strip down. I know HK had some spare panels (wing, bonnet, bumper) which were earmarked to repair it but I imagine either the insurance company has given up on the case due to his being sectioned or his posse...

Subframe partially sunken into the chassis leg leading to the steeling column acting as a support so the steering was so heavy it wouldn't self centre. Brakes needed pumping up to full power. Exhaust leaked into the cabin. Would do 90mph.
