Sun went down so it's a tiny bit cooler in the garage. Had a go at a bit more of the grille.

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

20200802_141449.jpg Rainy day, so a bit of garage time in front of the fan before it got too hot. Previous owner had attacked the chrome with a wire wheel, which is the best method, obviously, as shown by their results. 20200802_150541.jpg Buffed that up as best as I could, it's down to the nickel ...

Re: What did you do today?

The downside to the keep-in-the car system is, like my sister in Ontario, you get your car stolen and before you come out of work and find out they have already driven to the address on the documents and emptied it. Yup. I don't make the rules though, sadly. Some states already addressed this and m...

Re: What did you do today?

Registration over there includes a road tax type fee doesn't it? Yeah. One time fees to transfer title of ownership (like a house, ownership has to be filed with the state), interest based upon the sale value of the vehicle etc. Stays at home in a safe place. Registration is the closest equivalent ...

Re: What did you do today?

After getting the title sorted (ownership document, previous was in Mississippi) which was a bit more expensive than planned- I had called the DMV when I first got the car and said that I didn't need to get it on the road yet, do I need to do all the title and registration immediately, they said to ...

Re: 1951 Pontiac Chieftain

When did they drop "Sportsman's Paradise?" That always reminds me of Jerry Lee Lewis in the Alan Freed movie! If you look carefully on the current plate you'll see it in red on the bottom left. It's still the tagline. Custom plates don't have it because it lives in the space on a plain-white plate ...
