Re: Were You Taught By A Wobber Schoolteacher?

Two of my three primary school teachers drove Escorts whilst I was there. Same two drove Escorts whilst I was on the desk at Lookers Ford recovering from broken ankle in '96. Both walked straight in and said hello. Not bad for 22 years gap! Obviously I was memorable.😁 Middle school I saw my first mi...

Re: Were You Taught By A Wobber Schoolteacher?

Amongst the dross, the ones I remember are my primary school headteacher had a blue Porsche 928 with her name on it. DEV11T I think it was. Would have been nearly new at the time. French teacher at high school had an early BX in the orange beige they came in. One teacher, can't remember the name, s...

Re: What did you do today?

Both of them are moving. Both handbrake mechs work. Both dusts seals are neither use nor ornament. Half the springs clips are missing and the carriers are more crud than anything. Sliders work ok. A pair of new shonky ones are £39. The new carriers cost more.. Kits are available but I'm not sure whe...

Re: What did you do today?

I seem to have a Zafira A 1.6 win.

It's somewhat tired. And scrapey. Very.

After an hour and a half it now has functioning rear brakes and less scraping. Temp reprieve it seems, it needs discs and a pair of rear calipers or these refurbished (Bigg Redd possibly).

Basic maintenance not carried out.

Re: Wobland Spottage

Sort of a SD1 type back end from the B post backwards. Looks brilliant tbh (for a mock-up/prototype) bearing in mind what was about then- if they'd have actually got th Speke idiots to build any of the intended range it would have stolen a march on the rest of the manufacturers. Easily room for two ...

Re: Wobland Spottage

It is indeed.

I had the privilege of a go in it unofficially in 1991 (ish) whilst at College. Our lecturers wife worked for the Heritage division then and he did some work for them. it was in our workshops for a while. :-)

Re: Wobland Spottage

Ah, the industrial action farce.

Speke, Canley then Solihull.

Useless twats at Speke killed the variations stone dead. Shameful and short-sighted.
