Re: Found pics

So it is! I seem to remember a few years ago one of the Post Office car insurance posters on the wall in our local PO featuring a Zaporozhets....I wonder if it is deliberate to avoid brand-imaging or similar marketing tosh.

Re: Austin A70 Hampshire

Agree completely.....As I have mentioned before, effectively AD has saved two A70s. Full-width body styling belies the fact that they are traditionally built on a chassis and many a pre-war vehicle has been re-bodied or re-chassised but very often with a replica or new-build of one or other "co...

Re: Wobland Spottage

I hate out-of-character numberplates but then I am a bit weird about the whole thing admittedly. I agree with Mr Impala, they do jar. Badly. I am also sensitive to those cars who have lost their original registrations and/or being imported after the change to age-related (but plainly never issued) o...

Me? I'd prefer this smol boxy luxury saloon: Moretti DAF 55.

A connection with the base vehicle of both that and the Rio is of course Michelotti.....Did he pen that Moretti, too?

Re: Found pics

The first B&Q store, in Portswood, Southampton housed in an old picture-house. Named after Block & Quayle, the two founders.
"B" in the Greek alphabet is of course "Beta". The other car is a Quapri.

Re: Eddie Honda's wheels of steel (and occasionally alloy)

None of my insurance has gone up more than 5/6 percent, across Adrian Flux, some bunch up in Watford that Mrs Rocker has always used nor Peter James on the Morrises. I auto-renew as well, I can guarantee I would have ended up paying more on at least one of those policies had I shopped around as all ...

Re: Wobland Spottage

In complete contrast, I just walked past our local Co Op Funeral Director and they have their latest acquisition outside (or maybe a demo, I dunno). Stretched "Mustang" badged Mach E SUV thing, I take it perpetrated by Coleman-Milne. Too bleedin ugly to take a picture of and in fact I had ...

Panther Rio....Dollop-of-shite in a party frock with Granny's eyes. Nice to see, though, I don't think I've clapped eyes on one since the 1975 Motor Show.
