I've based 35 years of motoring on a core of £1500 German motors. Doing so has enabled me to waste most of the rest of my money on dissolving British tin.

I have nothing against 340s themselves as I have never had any reason to be near one but they do symbolise to me the loss of DAF as an independent maker and of Volvo as a big old barge factory. I can certainly vouch for their giffer magetism when they were new....

Do they serve any useful purpose like directing light? Allegedly they were originally intended to reduce beam bounce in fog.
