They can easily be tweaked to do 70mph, as most 14 year old owners of one will know. Faster than a lot of 125cc motorbikes, let alone 50cc mopeds. There is a little gang in the local town that meet up in the early evening to thrash up and down the main street on 50cc two strokes.
