Re: What did you do today?

Today oh dear and learned readers, I did a thing. I polished the Jag, with Autoglym no less. I managed to do all the car (apart from the roof) while sat on the floor though I did have to prop myself up to do the bonnet/boot. It was 6 Paracetamol job though and the pain is delightful right now. I the...

Re: What did you do today?

Hold the front page! I did another 'thing', there is a tiny ripple in the leather door pocket on the driver's side door, I removed it (only broke one bit, good going for me) completely, took it indoors and re-glued the errant bit, much to my surprise, it worked perfectly. Fitting WAS the reverse of ...

Re: EBay Finds

I owned a Yamaha GTS for a while. I was always intrigued by them and the whole 'hub centre steering' thing. It was dull. It felt exactly like a normal bike at anything above walking pace and the detuned engine pissed me off. I have pictures if anyone cares enough to see them. The front brake though ...

Re: What did you do today?

Decided I was fed-up of driving the Merc so swapped cars. Whoop! But I did do a 'thing', I bought another bottle of leather dye, this time from the 'Scratch Doctor/Clinic' and went out and tried a dab... It only bloody matches the sodding cars leather, perfectly! What started out as a tiny bit of cr...

Re: Y2k Jag XJ8

There was also 'Patch which which was a Ford crossflow that had been used in FF racing and put a rod thru... it was left outside the builders (Burton engineering?) complete with hole, for years. After a period of time, there was a sudden dearth of engines available so 'Patch' was hurriedly repaired ...

Re: EBay Finds

I normally like whitewall tyres, but they are abusing them there!

Re: What did you do today?

Had another go at the driver's seat. I used the old colour (the new stuff hasn't arrived yet) and while not perfect, it's 'perfect' enough to not annoy me. I am now waiting for delivery of an £18 bottle of dye that I no longer need/want. Think if the weather is nice again (today it was glorious, not...

Re: What did you do today?

I decided that the colour of the leather repair I did to the Jag a while ago, was too white. So asked on the Jag forum and there appear to be two colours with the same code...mine isn't the common one naturally. So I ordered a very small amount of the alternative which arrived today. My car is 'Barl...

Re: Found pics

I have never liked those Vauxhalls, they remind me of the day when I got lost at the seaside (I was but a tiny Xtriple) and I got marched around the carpark looking for my parent's car and they were everywhere!

Do the front as a bare minimum. I'm with you; cannot stand a wheel off-centre, it drives me nuts.
