Re: How not to get a MGB back on the road

Sounds to me like one excuse after another! :) I moved house the day after I broke my elbow, but then, I'm a man...
What a load of bollox I do talk. Good work chap, much respect for leaving the lovebirds to their own devices.

Re: Restoration or Rustoration?

Do you know, that back mudguard was the one bit that I spent ages getting the angle and fit right. As it came (stainless copy) it sat too low and looked shit, so I cut bits away here and there, modified fittings and generally spent sodding ages on. Contrast, the rearsets took about an hour to make a...

Re: Restoration or Rustoration?

997.JPG I have restored several cars (and more motorcycles) and I am never satisfied with the end result. There are always faults/flaws/bits that could have been done better. As a result, I always end up selling them shortly after finishing them. The one thing I did 'piece-meal' was my Bonneville a...

Re: What did you do today?

I just use a hose and wash under the arches and the sills every time I wash the car. I suppose it helps that we don't get a lot of salting down here and helps even more that I never actually go anywhere!

Re: What did you do today?

Hopefully, get new tyres... and wheels :) BIG wheels and tyres. I am sad and a big kid not to mention, a chav! Told you not to mention that! I've been pricing tyres today. 255/40ZR18 isn't cheap unless you go for no-name budget crap that I'd rather not fit. My new ones are 'only' 245/35/18 and I we...

Re: What did you do today?

By the way I noticed that you mentioned gummipledge recently. We used it on my eldests Pluriel and it really cut down the leaks massively. Get the name right you oik! Gummi Pflege or something like that, bloody Germans! Good stuff b'ain't it? Seems to have cured the slight leak I had round the fron...

Re: What did you do today?

My first wife had one of those coupes as her first car I had a MK10 Jag so guess which car was driven all the time? I quite liked it apart from the utterly tragic understeer but it was always predictably awful so fun in a perverse way :) Obviously back then I was an effin' hooligan that required a b...

Re: What did you do today?

I finally fitted new number plates - yahoo! Required a drill and one screwdriver, even I can't make a gash up of that... can I?

You doubting bastards, of course I did!
